First for Pets, a professional pet care company, is seeking outstanding overnight pet/house sitters to join our team. If you possess reliability, trustworthiness, physical fitness, and the ability to care for various domestic pets, we want to hear from you.
At First for Pets, we specialise in providing top-notch pet care services, and we are currently looking for overnight pet/house sitters who can stay in client homes in the areas of Lichfield, Sutton Coldfield, Burntwood, Walsall, Rugeley and surrounding areas.
As an ideal candidate, you should be prepared to travel and cover bookings in any or all of these locations.
As an overnight pet/house sitter, you will be responsible for local bookings that can range from overnight stays to three-week assignments.
Our clients have diverse properties, including small homes and large country houses, providing a unique and exciting variety of environments.
You will have the flexibility to be away from the property for up to 6 hours per day (to go home, etc.), and you have the freedom to choose which housesits you want to accept.

Requirements for the overnight pet sitting position:
• Reliability and Trustworthiness: We value responsible individuals who can be relied upon to provide excellent service to our clients and their beloved pets.
• Valid Driving License and Your Own Car: Having your own transportation is essential for this role as you may need to travel between different client homes.
• Experience with Animals: We require several years of experience living or working with dogs, cats, and other animals. Your expertise will ensure the well-being and comfort of our clients’ pets.
• Cleanliness and Tidiness: Our clients’ homes are their sanctuaries, and we expect our pet/house sitters to maintain exceptional cleanliness and tidiness during their stays.
• Criminal Background Check: All applicants must be able to pass a criminal background (DBS) check to ensure the safety and security of our clients’ homes and pets.
Earnings for this position are circa £210 per week (£840 – £930 per month). Please note that sometimes, during off-peak holiday periods, there may be days or weeks without work in certain areas. However, during busy periods, you’ll have the opportunity to earn more.

Donna was caring for our cats when we were away for a weekend and we saw on Facebook that a cat had been killed on the road near our house. Donna was amazing, she headed straight over and spent ages looking until she found him on the side of the road. She took him to a vet to be scanned and confirmed that it was our beloved cat, Odin. We were totally devastated but Donna was so caring. She arranged for Odin to be cremated and then returned his ashes to us as soon as we got home. Everything was handled with kindness and sensitivity. In addition to the shock and sadness at Odin’s death we were really worried about our other cat, Odin’s brother, as they were so close. The photos and videos Donna sent us of him were so reassuring that he was doing alright. Everything was handled with care and professionalism and we are so grateful to Donna and Geoff.
Claire Price2024-03-26A big thanks to Donna who recently looked after Alan & Boomer for two weeks. They had so much fun despite the rain and they even got to go to daycare a few times to play with other dogs, which they loved. Alan has epilepsy so we worry when we leave him, but Donna was brilliant at giving his meds and looked after him when he had a seizure, which is a difficult thing to watch. I think they miss her and keep waiting for her to come back. I have every confidence in her and her team to look after my boys. Highly recommend! Thanks Donna

Lesley Herriott2024-03-05I cannot recommend this company more highly. I have been able to turn to them when I've been desperate for help. I have boarded my dog in his foster home through them and the quality of service was absolutely amazing. He is epileptic and so I needed to feel completely happy with who was looking after him - and I did! Recently I have broken both my wrists and wasn't able to walk my dog but I have had a walker every day for him. They came and has an introductory visit with him. This meant I could meet them and they could meet him. They took him out on a regular basis at a time which suited me but wasn't necessarily the same time every day. He's not the easiest of dogs to walk as he is large and strong. He's also very determined about where he wants to walk! They all coped admirably with him. I got a full resume of what had happened during the walk as well as pictures and videos and it was nice to see him with a smile on his face, showing me he was enjoying himself. The fact that he was happy to go with them meant a lot to me. Even when we were surrounded by floods Donna managed to get here, be it a little late and he still had his full hours walk. I found them totally reliable and extremely pleasant. It is so reassuring to know you have people you can turn to when you really need help.

Over the years my beloved Labrador benefitted from day visits, regular weekly walks, dog boarding and in recent years as he got older dog sitters at home. Every single person who cared for Sherlock was reliable, professional, kind and loved animals. He sadly passed away very suddenly last month after becoming acutely unwell and Jeff was there for him on a Sunday with his ambulance service to get him to the emergency vet.
